Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Freedom Protocol services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Ghana.

2. Eligibility

To use Freedom Protocol you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age (or have parental/guardian consent)
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Not be prohibited from using our services under applicable law

3. Account Registration and Security

• You must create an account to access community features
• You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Services Description

The Community Hub provides:

• A community platform for people managing metabolic health conditions
• Community groups organised by region, district, and health condition
• Discussion forums for peer-to-peer support
• Health events including webinars, workshops, and community walks
• A directory of verified health professionals
• Curated health education resources
• Live event rooms with chat, Q&A, and polling

The Care App (separate service) provides:

• Telemedicine consultations with licensed, verified doctors
• Personalised medical advice from independent practitioners
• Health tracking and clinical care management

The Community Hub does NOT:

• Provide emergency medical services — call emergency services immediately in emergencies
• Provide direct medical advice, diagnoses, or prescriptions through community features
• Guarantee specific health outcomes
• Replace in-person medical care when clinically necessary
• Act as a healthcare provider or medical facility — for clinical care, use the Care App

6. Community Guidelines and User Conduct

As a community member, you agree to:

• Treat all members with respect and empathy
• Not share false or misleading health information
• Not impersonate healthcare professionals or claim qualifications you do not hold
• Not harass, bully, or discriminate against other members
• Not post spam, advertisements, or unrelated commercial content
• Not share other members' personal or health information without consent
• Report harmful content to moderators
• Use the anonymous posting feature responsibly

7. Health Professionals

Health professionals listed on the Community Hub agree to:

• Maintain valid professional licences and registration with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., Ghana Medical and Dental Council, Pharmacy Council of Ghana)
• Provide accurate credentials and registration numbers for verification
• Not provide clinical diagnoses or prescriptions through community hub features (discussions, events, etc.) — clinical consultations must occur through the Care App or their own practice
• Provide educational and general health information only within the community hub
• Maintain professional conduct at all times
• Comply with applicable healthcare regulations and ethical standards

Professionals who also practise through the Care App operate as independent practitioners. Freedom Protocol facilitates the connection but does not direct, supervise, or assume liability for their clinical decisions or patient outcomes.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Freedom Protocol, including software, text, graphics, logos, and the Freedom Protocol brand are owned by Freedom Protocol Ghana Limited Company and protected by international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our platform or proprietary content
• Reverse engineer or decompile our software
• Use our trademarks without written permission
• Scrape or harvest data from our platform

9. User-Generated Content

By posting content (discussions, replies, event comments) on Freedom Protocol, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content within the platform. You retain ownership of your content and may request deletion at any time, subject to our data retention obligations.

10. Moderation and Content Removal

Freedom Protocol employs community moderators and administrators who have the authority to remove content, lock discussions, pin important posts, and suspend or ban accounts that violate these Terms or our community guidelines. Moderation decisions are made at our discretion and are final.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law:

The Community Hub and Care App are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Health outcomes resulting from information shared on the community hub
• Actions taken based on community discussions or resources
• Clinical decisions, advice, or treatment provided by independent practitioners accessed through the Care App — each practitioner bears their own professional liability
• Conduct of health professionals listed on the platform or practising through the Care App
• Platform downtime or technical issues
• Loss of data due to technical failures
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Freedom Protocol Ghana Limited Company, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of Freedom Protocol, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through mediation, and if necessary, through the courts of competent jurisdiction in Ghana.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to Freedom Protocol at our discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of Freedom Protocol after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
